For Debra, creating with her hands has always been a part of who she is. Before she was baking sourdough, she spent more than 35 years in the floral industry, learning the importance of creativity, quality, texture, balance, and the little details that can turn something ordinary into something unforgettable.
That same passion eventually led her from flowers to flour. What began as a search for real, traditionally made sourdough quickly became a new creative obsession—and ultimately, Songbird Sourdough.
Today, Debra brings the same independent spirit and attention to detail to every loaf she bakes. She believes great bread takes time, quality ingredients matter, and there is no reason to take shortcuts simply because they are easier.
